COOKING IS BACK!

Beginners Guide:
Welcome to cooking on Pet Society! When you start off in cooking you only have one dish, Vegetable Soup. To get started all you need to do is either click your Cooking Stove or go into your cookbook via the book tab on the bottom.

Next you have to choose what to cook. Depending on if you want to go very fast through the cookbook or get money off of the food. If you want to go fast your best bet would be to cook the Vegetable Soup. Depending on what your preferences are you can choose to make longer dishes for more money. You don't have to have the ingredients in your chest to get cooking. It will automatically buy them for you.

When you have chosen the dish you want to cook and have clicked cook you need to wait for the dish to be done.

After the dish has been cooked it looks like this. You can either click on the stove to retrieve the food or you can do it through the cookbook.

However if you don't come back in the right amount of time the dish will be burned. The more you cook the higher the rank you will be.

How much do I have to cook to get rank up to the next cooking level?
It tells you in the cookbook. Go through it and find what rank you are and on the next page at the top says "Cook xx more dishes"

What is the Magic Cooking Powder and how do I use it?
The Magic Cooking Powder, which can be found in the Boutique shop, unburns your food. It costs 1CC and you drop it ontop of your Cooking Stove. If the food isn't in the stove it wont unburn.

I keep burning my food. What can I do?
I use a timer on the computer to remind me to get it. I use the Cool Timer. For Mac users sugarface suggested Egg Timer

What do I do with the burned food I get?
It can't be sold or gifted. The only thing you can do is recycle it for 10 points.

Do I have to go into the cookbook everytime to see how much time is left on my food?
No, if you move your cursor over the stove it brings up a popup with how much time is left.

What is the fastest way to get cooking points?
So far the fastest way to get points is to cook Vegetable Soup's.

How do I see how many dishes I have cooked?
In your pets Diary on the right it says Cooking Points: xxxx. That is how many dishes you have cooked.

How long do I have after I cook my dish does it take to burn?
However long it takes for the dish to cook is how long you have to retreive it. 10 min to cook- 10 minutes to grab it before it burns.

How can I get Seasonal Recipes?
Sadly they were only for around Christmas '09. You can't get them anymore.

How do I estimate how long it will take me to rank up?
Say you have to cook 100 dishes and you choose to cook soups. That would be 100x10= 1000. Then 1000/60=16.66. So you can assume it will take 17 hours to cook 100 soups.

Why are there some of the ingredients colored in my book and some greyed out?
The ingredients that are colored are items that are in your chest. The Greyed ones are the ones that need to be bought.

Why does it cost less to cook my dish then it says on here?
If you have ingredients in your chest it drops the cost down.

What if I don't want to use the ingredient I have in my chest?
If you move the ingredient from your chest and put it in a room it wont be used as a ingredient anymore.

How many dishes in total does it take to cook up to Cheesy Mayor?
From what peoples diaries say 6,254

Why can't I learn the Cheesy Mayor recipe?
It is a bug. It has been reported to playfish. As soon as I know something I will update. =)
