Here's a suggestion for a traditional Irish menu:
Starter: Boxty Traditional Irish Potato Pancake, using fresh, grated potatoes, flour, egg and buttermilk. Serve fried in the pan. ![]() Restaurant City Ingredients: Potato Flour Egg Dublin Bay Prawns Lightly boiled in salt water, served with garlic butter. ![]() Restaurant City Ingredients: Prawns Butter Garlic Main Course: Irish Stew The most famous of traditional Irish cuisine, Irish stew is a hearty, nourishing dish, usually made with beef, lamb or mutton, potatoes, carrots, onions, water and stock. When I make it, I dip the chunks of beef into flour (mixed with a little cumin powder) and pan fry gently until brown before adding the rest of the ingredients. Delicious! ![]() Restaurant City Ingredients: Beef Potato Carrots Bacon and Cabbage A common meal in Ireland, dating back to when people grew their own vegetables and reared their own pigs. Boiled bacon and boiled cabbage, served with potatoes (preferably with real butter). Very often eaten on St. Patrick's Day. ![]() Restaurant City Ingredients: Bacon Cabbage Potato Dessert: Goody Traditional Irish dessert - bread boiled in milk with sugar and spices. ![]() Restaurant City Ingredients: Bread Milk Sugar Luck o' the Irish Chocolate Mint Dessert A rich chocolate sponge, topped with a layer of mint fondant and chocolate icing. Served with cream. ![]() Restaurant City Ingredients: Chocolate Cream Mint (new ingredient) Drinks: Non-Alcoholic Irish Coffee Not very traditional without the whiskey, but a nice way to end a meal nontheless. ![]() Restaurant City Ingredients: Coffee Sugar Cream Shamrock Smoothie Not so much traditional as invented by me - kiwi and lime blended with vanilla ice-cream to make a yummy, green smoothie. ![]() Restaurant City Ingredients: Kiwi Lime Ice Cream I'll leave you with an Irish Blessing: May the road rise up to meet you, May the sun be always on your back And may you be half an hour in heaven Before the devil knows you're dead. Enjoy ![]() |

It would be cool if RC had a barista machine as well as the drinks dispenser and fridge so to produce your irish coffees (and the other hot drinks on the menu!)

That's a great idea, Piccolo!
Since I've put this menu together, I've been feeling really homesick. What I'd give right now for a chunk of wheaten bread, real butter and a big bowl of stew! |
